FIRST ACT'S STATEMENT ON SOCIAL JUSTICE

First Act Children’s Theatre believes in and strongly supports social justice in our community and in our nation. Theatre arts play a vital part in shaping the stories we share and it is our role to include children in the narrative in order to promote healthy change and a better future.  We have striven in our material and process to be inclusive of race, gender identity, sexual orientation, disabilities, and socioeconomic status, and recommit to honoring this goal in our future efforts. We grieve the unrest in our nation and give our support to the protestors who are exercising their constitutional right to freedom of speech. Black lives matter, and we find, time and again, that children have the strongest voices of anyone, and they deserve to be heard.

First Act has made a donation to the following organization.  We invite you to consider making a donation to this or another organization working toward  social justice:

Urban Triage:  https://urbantriage.org/    Urban Triage mission statement:  Our mission is to support black families' self-sufficiency, community leadership, advocacy and student success through parent engagement and cultural heritage.
