Storytime Theatre
Point of Grace Location

Preschool -- Ages 4-7
8 Weeks
Thursdays 10:00-10:45am
October 2 - December 4 (*no classes on October 23 or November 27*)
Each Storytime Theatre session features a classic children’s story that is read and brought to life by the young “pretenders” who must help work out casting, sequence, action and locations.
Imaginative play develops skills essential to reading and logic, and First Act’s Teaching Artist will lead students in the exploration of sequence, collaboration and empathy.
We provide:
· A safe atmosphere where children can be immersed in the imaginary world of a story and experience empathy and self-awareness
· Simple costumes and props to encourage children in exploring the sequence of a story and its characters.
· An invitation for children to “problem solve” character challenges without the pressure of performance.
· Weekly 45 minute classes, with new stories and activities introduced each week.
· Lead and Assistant Instructors with a teacher ratio of 1 to 6.
· An 8 week session at a total cost of $98 per student.
· Students may re-enroll for subsequent sessions.
“Children who are active in pretend play are usually more joyful and cooperative, more willing to share and take turns, and have larger vocabularies . . . Imaginative play helps youngsters to concentrate, to be attentive, and to use self-control.” SMART START: The Parents' Guide To Preschool Education by Marian Edelman Borden
Actor, director and teacher Terry Kerr has most recently served as Education Director for Children's Theater of Madison.
Location: Point of Grace Church, 7026 Raymond Rd. Madison.
Tuition: $98/ 8 wks.
