Upcoming Queen of Peace location production:
The Jungle Book
The Jungle Book, based on the writing of Rudyard Kipling, tells the story of Mowgli, an infant, abandoned and found by Bagheera the panther and given to a pack of Wolves who raise him as their own. As the boy grows older, the fierce Tiger, Sher Khan becomes aware of him, and the Wolves decide that Mowgli should return to the nearby man-village for safety and Bagheera agrees to escort him. Baloo the bear, however, thinks differently, and shows Mowgli how life in the jungle can be the best there is. Mowgli gets into trouble with Kaa the boa constrictor and then meets a friend, Shanti, a young village girl. When the two of them are abducted by Monkeys, Baloo realizes that Bagheera was right—Mowgli belongs in the village! Join us for this great adventure as we meet all kinds of eccentric and funny characters along the way!
From novice to experienced young performers, our after-school production classes provide a universal approach to children's theatre that embraces diversity and encourages inclusion and self-esteem. Audition skills are introduced and refined. Creative movement, vocal strength, memory development, acting technique, singing, dancing and group cooperation are fostered throughout the eight weeks of rehearsal. The fun culminates in a FREE fully-costumed performance for family and friends!
Enrollment is open to anyone in grades 1-7 (not just for Queen of Peace students!)
All classes are in-person following current CDC guidelines. Should guidelines require a return to virtual activities, we will continue to produce the entire play through our virtual ZOOM classroom.
Tuition: $275 / 8 weeks
