When Charlie Bucket finds a golden ticket in his Willy Wonka Chocolate bar, he has no idea that his life is about to change forever! Based on the book by Roald Dahl, this enchanting play tells the story of how Charlie and four other lucky children and their parents visit the Willy Wonka Chocolate Factory for the adventure of their lives! We'll recreate this performance with full costumes, props made by the students, and have some fun with choreography as we develop our acting technique and share our final play live, virtually in a recorded performance that you can later share with family and friends!
From novice to seasoned actor, our after-school program offers a well-rounded approach to children's theatre. Audition skills are introduced and refined. Creative movement, vocal control, memory, acting technique and group cooperation are fostered throughout the eight weeks of rehearsal. Participants learn songs and dance choreography and learn about props and sets as they create a prop or set piece that will be used in the show. And of course, all the fun culminates in a FREE fully-costumed virtual performance where they can't wait to show off all they've learned!
