First Act Mission Statement:First Act Children's Theatre, LLC is dedicated to encouraging the discovery and development of creativity, imagination, self esteem, and leadership through the process of theatre.About our Instructors and StaffFirst Act Children's Theatre gathers a staff of talented, experienced theatre artists , designers and technicians to assist in teaching our theatre camps. All of our instructors have had experience in theatre, and many bring a wide variety of talents to our organization. They all share the love of creativity and the joy of working with youth!

Artistic Director Susan Nanning-Sorenson, MFA, has directed numerous theatricalproductions and workshops for all ages in the Madison and Monroe areas, including Community and College productions. A Music instructor for St. Maria Goretti School, and guest Guest Lecturer for Edgewood College, Madison, Susan has most recently appeared with the Monroe Theatre Guild in the 2005 production of Suessical The Musical. Susan holds an MFA in Acting from the University of Wisconsin, MadisonInstructors and Artists and Artists Sound designer

Kraus joined First Act summer 2005, Make up Designer and Artist SaSarah Archer continues to share her talents with us . Sarah has participated in First Act since it's onset in 2000, and was an apprentice for two years before becoming an instructor. Sarah will be attending the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire in the fall of 2007. Costume Technician and Designer Marla King joined us in the summer of 2005 sharing her love of fabric design! Marla has helped behind the scenes for many community theatre productions, and now combines her love of theatre with her creative vision and fabric skills as a costume designer for First Act! She is dedicated a mother of four children who also love theatre! Lighting Designer and Technician Aaron Siegman enjoys sharing his love of lighting with the children of first act. Aaron has studied lighting since a freshman in high school, and has designed and run the lights for over 12 productions. He joined First Act in the summer of 2005, designing the lighting for Peter Pan and The Emperor's New Clothes. He is currently pursuing a degree in technical theatre .
